New Zealand thrashed Pakistan by 115 runs in the fourth T20 at Mount Maunganui to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
In a fine all-round performance, the Black Caps set Pakistan an imposing 221 to win, before bowling them out for just 105 in 16.2 overs.
Seamers Jacob Duffy (4-20) and Zak Foulkes (3-25) starred as Pakistan were reduced to 42-5 by the end of the six-over powerplay.
Only Abdul Samad, who made 44, and Irfan Khan Niazi, with 24, reached double figures in a dismal batting performance from the visitors.
In contrast, Finn Allen smashed 50 from 20 balls at the top of the order for the hosts in a destructive opening stand of 59 in just four overs with Tim Seifert, who made 44 from 22.
Pakistan fought back through the middle of the innings with seamer Haris Rauf taking 3-27, but all-rounder Michael Bracewell’s 46 added a late boost for New Zealand, with 63 runs coming from the final five overs.
Rauf was the only Pakistan bowler to concede fewer than 10 runs per over.
The five-match series concludes in Wellington on Wednesday and is followed by three one-day internationals.
