His glittering career saw him take on big names including Mark Selby and Ryan Day.
And in 2022 Talaat played at the Crucible in the World Seniors Snooker Championship.
The star won his first game before losing to icon Jimmy White.
And Talaat appeared to step back from snooker the following year.
But he was best known for breaking an incredible record.
In June 2014, Talaat achieved the highest break possible in 6 Reds Snooker.
That score was a whopping 83.
And Taalat became the first player to do it during the ISBF World 6 Red Snooker Championships.
The record-breaking feat took place in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt, on 20 June 2014.
It even saw Taalat cement his spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

And tributes were paid on social media.

“Wael was an iconic figure in Billiard Sports, not just in Egypt but across the entire African region. He inspired many aspiring players who learned and excelled by watching his game and gaining knowledge from him, both directly and indirectly.
“His humble nature and exceptional skill made him a beloved player worldwide. Notably, he became the first player to score an 83-point break in 6-Red Snooker, earning him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
“IBSF deeply mourns his loss and extends our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire snooker community in Africa and beyond. Rest in peace, Wael.”
World Seniors Snooker said on their Facebook page: “Everyone at World Seniors Snooker is incredibly saddened by the recent passing of Wael Talaat.
