Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has agreed a deal to play for Gloucestershire in April and May.

The 25-year-old will feature in five Championship matches, starting against Kent on 18 April and ending against Northamptonshire at the end of May.

Green has played 28 Tests for Australia, averaging 36.23 with the bat and taking 35 wickets at 35.31.

Head coach Mark Alleyne said: “Cameron Green’s ability is unquestionable, and he is clearly first-class.

“He usually operates in a key position for the best Test team in the world at the moment and having that pedigree in our camp is amazing for the players alongside him.

“We have serious ambitions in all formats in 2025 and Cameron’s signing will reinforce this sentiment.”

Green will use his spell in England to prepare for Australia’s World Test Championship Final against South Africa at Lord’s, which begins on 11 June.

He has not played since September because of a lower back injury but is expected to be back playing as a batter before coming to Bristol.

Gloucestershire, who will be captained by Green’s compatriot Cameron Bancroft in red-ball cricket this summer, start their County Championship campaign on 4 April with an away game against Derbyshire.
