Paige Spiranac is not only super popular on social media for her many “revealing” posts, she is also a big advocate for getting more people into the game of golf. As such, she often has ideas that are a bit outside the box when it comes to ways to create more interest in the sport.

From her series of instructional and educational videos for beginners to tips for the more seasoned duffers to just sharing ideas to make the game of golf more fun, Paige Spiranac has no shortage of thoughts and ideas to share.

On Wednesday, she shared another one of her ideas in a video where she suggests that 18 holes of golf might just be too many for the average player. Spiranac also provided a solution to that dilemma that a whole lot of people who commented think might actually be pretty ingenious.

“Here’s my smokin’ hot take of the day,” Paige began. “18 holes is too much golf. I’m not talking about competitive or professional golf. I’m talking about fun, recreational golf. So hear me out.

“12 holes is the perfect amount of golf. There are people who want to play less and there are people who want to play more. So, instead of nine and nine, here’s what you do. Six, six, six.

“It’s perfect. So that way when I’m done after 12 I can walk off. If you’re feeling good, having a great round, you finish out the last six holes. Or, if you’re not playing well at all, you’re done after six.

“It is perfect. You do six, six, six.”

“So you start on the 6th hole or end after 12?” one person then asked.

“I envision 3 separate 6 hole courses. So you can pick and choose which ones you want to play and how many holes, but you’d have to play at least 6,” Paige Spiranac replied.

Another commenter whose bio says he is a developer wrote, “LOL I did a 12 hole course at Monarch Dunes in San Luis Obispo, CA 20 or so years ago (The Challenge Course). Steve Pate and Damien Pascuzzo architects. When Golf Digest asked me why 12 holes, I said if there was a bar at the end of the 12th hole in public courses, 70% of golfers would never see the 13!

“Bandon then did their 13 holes course with Coores/Crenshaw and there have been variations since throughout the US.

“It’s an 1 1/2 hour of play vs. 4 hrs. (as time is the reason many can’t or won’t golf), and it’s not intimidating for new golfers, kids, older golfers…Great addition when you already have a traditional 18 like we did! Also great for practicing short game 125 yards in!”

What do you think?
