THIBODAUX, La – The Nicholls State University women’s soccer team began the 2024 campaign with a 0-0 draw with Louisiana Tech.
Despite facing 16 total shots, senior goalkeeper Megan Cook tallied eight saves to earn her first clean sheet of the season. This is the first draw between the Colonels and Lady Bulldogs in the series history that includes nine matchups dating back to 2005.
Mia Gallina and Peyton Bastine took the only two shots for the Red & Gray. Bastine’s try came on a free kick outside of the box that nearly went in.
The Colonels committed eight fouls compared to six for the Lady Bulldogs. Kalil Matlock and Avery Kyle were given yellow cards for LA Tech.

The Red & Gray will host Grambling on Sunday Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.
