2024-25 Men’s Golf Schedule
WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State men’s golf head coach Judd Easterling released the Shockers’ tournament slate for the upcoming 2024-25 season on Thursday afternoon.
The 2024-25 season will be the sixth for Easterling as the Shocker leader. The Shockers enter the year after ending the 2023-24 campaign with their best-ever finish at the American Athletic Conference Championship, finishing in third place, and breaking almost every team record related to score in their history at the Championship in the process.
The 2024 fall season for the Shockers begins in Edwardsville, Illinois at Gateway National Golf Links, where they will compete in the SIUE Dolenc Invitational September 9-10.
The Shockers then travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to open play in the Git-R-Done Invitational on September 23, then rounding out September with a trip to Houston, Texas to play in Rice’s Bayou City Collegiate Classic September 30 to October 1.
The Shockers end the fall by hosting the third annual Grier Jones Shocker Invitational October 6-8, where the Shockers have won back-to-back titles. The tournament is being played as Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas for the second consecutive year.
The Shocker spring sprint begins internationally with a second straight trip to Cancun, Mexico to play in the Los Vaqueros Intercollegiate at Playa Paraiso Golf Club February 2-4.
The team will then get a month off, before playing in three consecutive tournaments in Arizona in the month of March. The Arizona crusade begins in Phoenix in the GCU Invitational March 10-12 at Grand Canyon’s home course, followed quickly by a trip to Tucson to play in the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate March 17-18. The Shockers return home briefly, then head back to the Grand Canyon State to play in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Maricopa March 30 – April 1.
The Black and Yellow will end the regular season with a trip to Iowa City, Iowa and Finkbine Golf Course to play in Iowa’s Hawkeye Intercollegiate April 12-13.
The 2025 American Athletic Conference Championship will be played at the Ritz-Carlton Members Club in Sarasota, Florida, April 18-20.
The 2024-25 Shocker roster consists of nine linksmen with five returners, headlined by senior and fourth place finisher at last year’s AAC Championship, Michael Winslow. Seniors Lucas Scheufler and Adam Balatka return for one more year and are joined by sophomores Ty Adkins and Conner Geist. The Shocker newcomers consist of three Indian Hills Community College transfers and one freshman in Caden Cox. The IHCC transfers in Jose Carletta, Jose Miguel Ramirez, and Mitchell Revie all contributed to the Warriors 2023 NJCAA Division I Team National Championship. In addition, Ramirez was the 2023 NJCAA Division I Men’s Golf Individual Champion with the Warriors.
