ARLINGTON, Texas – 2023-24 was a record-breaking year in athletic fundraising for UT Arlington, as the department raised its highest dollar amount in a single year in UTA Athletics history.
“It’s been a fantastic year,” UTA Director of Athletics Jon Fagg said. “I think our fans are engaged in what we’re doing, our donors are engaged and we quite frankly just started talking about it with them more directly than I think we have in the past and our fans and donors have responded.”
In addition to the historic single-year total, which was a 95% increase from the previous year, UTA Athletics also set several new fundraising records in 2023-24. The Maverick Club saw a 40% increase in donations, and there was a 78% increase in premium seating sales.
“The important thing about this momentum we’re seeing is that it’s not a moment, this is a movement,” Senior Associate AD for Development Ira Childress said. “We are appreciative of our fantastic donors and dedicated to keep this rolling into 2024-25 and beyond.”
Additionally, the department received the most gifts over $25,000 in UTA Athletics’ history and received the largest single unrestricted gift in department history.
The Maverick Club is the fundraising arm of UTA Athletics, charged with providing student-athlete scholarships, first-class facilities, and the financial support necessary to run/operate each of UTA’s 15 varsity sport programs.
