Oakland hits the Big Apple tonight for the first of three against the New York Mets, and we’ll be seeing a very familiar face on the opposing mound.
Former A’s All-Star Paul Blackburn is set to take the ball against his former team. He’s done well in each of his first two starts for his new team, pitching six innings of one-run ball both times out. The A’s will be hoping to get some damage against their former teammate and start this series off right.
The A’s will march out rookie Joe Boyle for his first start since returning from the IL. Boyle’s season has been up and down and his top line numbers don’t look especially encouraging but he’s looked solid during his time with the Aviators on his rehab assignment.
