Athletic Marketing Fall 2024 Internship Opportunities

Position Summaries

Grassroots Marketing:
This position will assist in creating and supporting student engagement efforts on campus, including but not limited to: promotional tabling, speaking to student organizations and/or classes, distributing promotional materials to campus buildings. In addition, this position will be part of the Marketing Game Day staff and help execute in-game promotions at assigned events. This position will serve as an Athletic Department ambassador to the campus community and will be required to attend on-campus events and Athletic events.

 

Student Engagement Marketing:
This position will assist in working to create, implement and execute a marketing plan as it relates to student engagement focusing on campus student organizations and Athletic teams. In addition, this position will be responsible for creating weekly home game graphics and recaps as necessary. This position will serve as an Athletic Department ambassador to the campus community and may be required to attend on-campus events and Athletic events with Athletic Marketing staff.

 

Graphic Design:
This position will assist in researching, developing, and creating content to be used for all of Winthrop University’s athletic teams. There will be an emphasis on creating game day packages that will be used on the video boards for: volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball. Content will be primarily focused on game day content with an opportunity to create designs for promotional giveaways. Additionally, this position may be asked to attend athletic events for observation.

Requirements/Compensation:

In order to fulfill internship requirements, the candidate must work a minimum of 10 hours per week (unpaid) and be enrolled in approved internship credit. Additionally, this candidate must be comfortable with working in the office, at athletic events (indoor and outdoor), or remotely depending on tasks. All positions will coincide with Winthrop’s academic calendar and are available in a one (1) or two (2) semester term.

 

Qualifications:
Currently enrolled and in good academic standing at Winthrop University. Undergraduate students and graduate students are welcome to apply. Candidates must have strong communication and organizational skills. Graphic Design candidates must have experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
