ABILENE – ACU senior soccer player Chayse Thorn was recently selected to the 2024 Preseason All-WAC Team. This respected honor reflects Thorn’s exceptional performance and dedication to the ACU Wildcats over her remarkable collegiate career.
Thorn, a dynamic forward from Rowlett, Texas, has been a pivotal force for the ACU soccer program since her debut. Over the course of her career she has appeared in 49 games, showcasing her goal-scoring prowess with 23 career goals, with a team-leading 14 goals in 2023.
“This creates more excitement for our team with our first preseason All-WAC honor,” said head coach Stephen Salas. “Chayse is a great leader by demonstration and is an exciting player to watch. Her play lifts the standard for her teammates around her as we embark on pursuing a conference championship!”
With a career tally that includes 51 points and 2714 minutes played, Thorn has demonstrated both her endurance and dedication to the team.
In 2023, Thorn was named First Team All-WAC as well as Third Team All-Pacific Region.
The Wildcats play a home exhibition match against Texas State on August 9, at 7 p.m. CST.
