STERLING TRUCKS HELP DRIVE SCOTS TO WORLD CUP – Cricket Scotland

It’s been one week since a memorable U19 Women’s World Cup Qualifying series in Aberdeen, when Scotland overcame Netherlands to reach next year’s finals in Malaysia and Thailand.

Cricket Scotland is grateful to the support of Sterling Trucks for their assistance on our team’s journey. Their financial support enabled the squad to receive additional pace bowling coaching, provide skill-specific support and spend time with a sport psychologist who worked with the players around mental health, skills, and wellbeing support in the lead into and during the World Cup Qualifiers.

Gordon Drummond, Head of Performance Pathway at Cricket Scotland, said:

“I’d like to extend a huge thanks to Sterling Trucks for backing our U19 Women’s squad. The fact they were able to support the group allowed us to bring in additional coaching and sports science support, which was huge in helping us to qualify for the World Cup.

“It’s really important that our players are supported well within the pathway, and the additional funding and support provided by Sterling Trucks allowed us to do that. We are really grateful to them and look forward to working with them, with their continued support, moving forward as we head towards the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup next January.”

Andy Duff, Managing Director at Sterling Trucks, said:

“I am delighted that Sterling Trucks are supporting the next generation of talent coming through the Cricket Scotland pathway. It’s important to ensure they have the support to allow them the best opportunity to pay at the highest level, and continue to take their cricket forward, hopefully into long and successful careers representing Scotland!

“It was fantastic to see the group qualify for the World Cup, benefiting from the additional coaching support and a sport psychologist. This is the talent of the future and a great time for these players to aspire for more, especially this year with both senior Men’s and Women’s teams qualifying for their respective World Cups as well.”
