The Annual Tour De Munster Cycling Event takes place today with more than 100 cyclists due to complete stage one from Cork to Killaloe today. The Cyclists are raising funds for the Down Syndrome community in Munster and will complete a total of 620km as they traverse the six counties to return to Cork on Sunday at approximately 6pm.
Today the cyclists are due to arrive in Clogheen for a lunch break shortly after 1pm, they will pass through Cahir at approximately 2.30pm, Tipperary town at 3.30pm with a break planned for Ballykisteen Great National Hotel – today’s route continues to Limerick via St John’s Castle and ultimately arriving in Killaloe.
Tipperary Down Syndrome delivers services, therapies and social opportunities at it’s facility in Thurles at Meitheal21 on Abbey Road.
The organisation is entirely reliant on funds it raises from a range of events and bucket collections throughout the year and would appreciate donations along the route to add to the funds raised by the cyclists in advance of today’s event.
