Racers Conclude Exhibition Play At Chattanooga

The Murray State women’s soccer team wrapped up their exhibition match Thursday night with the Chattanooga Mocs in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

“I’m happy with large portions of the game, but see areas we must improve,” head coach Matt Lodge said. “We created enough chances to score some more goals, but those things will come with time and more games under our belt.”

The Racers outshot the Mocs 9-7 with both teams matching three corners apiece.

“[Gavin McKinney] does a great job with his program at Chattanooga—always well prepared and organized,” Lodge added about the Mocs’ head coach. “They showed us some areas we can strengthen, which is why we play these games. We have a week to prepare for our season opening and I love the spot we are in right now.”

MSU opens up the 2024 regular season at Cincinnati on Thursday, August 15 at 6 p.m. CT. The two programs are set to play at Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
