KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Monmouth University senior Lauren Bruno was named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Players to Watch List as a defender.
Bruno was honored after a stellar 2023 campaign in which she led the Hawks to an appearance in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championship match.
Bruno had a stellar fall for the Hawks as she was named Second Team All-Region by the USC, the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-CAA and First Team All-ECAC.
Bruno started 18 games while leading the Hawks. Bruno keyed a defensive unit that posted 11 shutouts, including seven straight to start CAA play. She and the Monmouth defense held 14 opponents to one goal or less on the scoreboard. Bruno took a lot of the free kicks for the Hawks and registered a career-high three assists this season.
