BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont field hockey head coach Kate Pfeifer announced today the addition of former Catamount standout Haley Buffenbarger to her coaching staff.
Buffenbarger joins the staff as an assistant coach and will begin her duties immediately.

A mainstay on Vermont’s backline for the last five seasons, Buffenbarger started and played all 81 games during her career. She ranks second all-time in games played and led the Catamounts to back-to-back appearances in the America East tournament in 2022 and 2023.
Vermont gave up just 1.91 goals per game with Buffenbarger anchoring the defense since 2019. She wrapped up her career last fall with seven goals and nine assists.
UVM begins the 2024 campaign with four straight games away from home starting on Aug. 30 with a contest at Lafayette.
