Richmond, Va. – University of Richmond director of track and field/head women’s cross country coach Lori Taylor and head men’s cross country coach Steve Taylor have announced the release of the 2024 cross country schedule.
The Spiders open the season with the annual Spider Alumni Open on Saturday, August 31 at Richmond’s home away from home, Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville.
A three-week break leads into the team’s first road trip of the year, traveling to Raleigh, NC for the Adidas XC Challenge hosted by NC State on Friday, September 20.
The program will open October competition with a journey to Chicago for the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola-Chicago on Friday, October 4.
Richmond will end its regular season in Charlottesville, Va. as the University of Virginia is set to host the Panorama Farm Invitational on Saturday, October 19.
The Spiders are excited to enter the postseason as they return to home territory on Saturday, November 2 where the 2024 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship meet is slated to take place at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va.
The team will then head to Rock Hill, SC, for the NCAA Southeast Region Championships on Friday, November 15. This competition will be a stepping stone towards qualifying for the ultimate collegiate cross country event; the NCAA Championships which will be held Saturday, November 23, in Madison, WI.
