Race 1. (11:30) Jockeys Appreciation (Bm72) 1500m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Back Me

5 Captain Maverick (Bet Now: $11.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Dermot Weld, he now finds himself with Chris Waller in making his Australian debut. He showed good promise in Ireland, winning his second start in good style at Galway before being sent down under. Trial work has been strong and will be strong at the end.

Danger

4 Lady Boss (Bet Now: $4.80) is a Ciaron Maher trained filly that comes here after a win at Canterbury followed by a placing at Randwick where she kept finding the line but just found a couple better when third to Patchouli Dream. Like her on the bigger tracks and hard fit, she appeals as a key chance.

Long Shot

2 Mickey’s Medal (Bet Now: $6.50) has found winning form and commands respect for mine. This gelding was a track/distance winner from two weeks ago, getting the beaut sit in transit before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. He’s a very consistent animal and now he has got a win on the board, he can certainly go on with it.

Race 2. (12:05) Midway (Bm72) 1400m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Set a deposit limit.

Back Me

8 The Extreme Cat (Bet Now: $3.90) is the straight bat play. Nathan Doyle trained gelding that was a strong winner last week at Hawkesbury. He got into a decent spot just off the speed and let down with purpose to win nicely. Maps to get a sweet sit in transit and should be strong late. Happy to be in his corner.

Danger

3 Putt For Dough (Bet Now: $12.00) is one I can entertain for wider exotics. He ran fourth to Charming Legend in the Midway from three weeks back. He was near the speed throughout and he tried his guts out but just lacked the quality to go with them late in the piece when a close up fourth. With his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

Long Shot

2 Herb (Bet Now: $6.00) has been excellent since joining Kerry Parker and for mine, is one of the hardest to beat. This gelding won the Midway two weeks ago, getting a beaut steer just off the speed before sticking inside and drove hard late to wear down Silvanito. Up to 1400m should be fine and for mine, he only has to hold his form to be around the mark.

Race 3. (12:40) Nsw Jockeys Association (Bm72) 1200m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Back Me

2 Vivy Air (Bet Now: $2.40) is one of the more fascinating runners on the card. Formerly with Archie Alexander, she now finds herself with Ciaron Maher. This filly is Stakes class at her best so keen to see what Maher can do with her. She is better suited over slightly further but 1200m fresh tells me there is some form of intent. Watch betting and see what it does but on form, she’s hard to beat.

Danger

8 Cinematic Star (Bet Now: $11.00) is a Ciaron Maher trained mare that is three weeks between runs since racing over 1100m at Randwick when back off the speed and kept chasing in a good effort behind the in form In Flight. The depth here, I don’t think, is as deep, and with a more positive steer, she’s dangerous.

Long Shot

I want to give 10 Getafix (Bet Now:
$SP.00) another chance for the O’Shea/Charlton camp. Market said he would need the run when resuming here two weeks ago and he ran accordingly when fourth to Mayfair, but that said, he didn’t disgrace himself at all. Better for the run under the belt and if he’s going to contest better races, he’d want to be winning a race like this. Giving him another look.

Race 4. (13:15) Tab Highway Hcp (C3) 1200m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Set a deposit limit.

Back Me

11 Intervarsity (Bet Now: $2.25) is a quality mare for Messara/Gavranich that resumes after a two run prep in the Spring last year where she won both races and was sharp each time she stepped out. Potentially could be a contender for The Koscouszko and she looked great in a recent trial win at Scone. Leading contender for mine.

Danger

12 Lonhro’s Queen (Bet Now: $7.00) should take beating here for Cam Crockett. Talented mare that won the Highway two weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance, launching late to finish over the top in an impressive display. This is no harder and is one of many country horses that are starting to put their hand up for The Kosciuszko. Keen to see how she goes.

Long Shot

5 Consenza (Bet Now: $16.00) is a Scott Singleton trained mare who is racing quite consistently this time in. Latest run was a fortnight back here in the Highway when just off the speed throughout and tried hard but had no answers late for the finale of Lonhro’s Queen. Has run well at 1200m previously and is nearing a win.

Race 5. (13:50) Congratulations Zac Lloyd (Bm78) 1400m

Back Me

3 Centrestone (Bet Now: $10.00) looks to have returned in really good order and should eat up 1400m after resuming over 1200m two weeks ago at Eagle Farm. She got back off the speed and while she was never threatening, she found the line in a pretty good return behind Hold On Honey. Only had one soft trial leading in so with good improvement to come, she rates highly.

Danger

9 Lady Boss (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is a Ciaron Maher trained filly that comes here after a win at Canterbury followed by a placing at Randwick where she kept finding the line but just found a couple better when third to Patchouli Dream. Like her on the bigger tracks and hard fit, she appeals as a key chance.

Long Shot

5 African Daisy (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Jason Deamer trained mare that is three weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Randwick when on speed throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind impressive winner Defining. Genuine mare and for mine, strikes a winnable race.

Race 6. (14:25) Congratulations James Mcdonald (Bm78) 2000m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Back Me

4 Unanimous (Bet Now: $2.70) is three weeks between runs for Ciaron Maher since racing over the 1800m at Randwick. He had a suck run in transit from the inside gate and kept finding the line in a good effort behind Aramco, who looks to have come back in good order, so the form reads well and strikes a winnable race to my eye.

Danger

3 Father’s Day (Bet Now: $5.50) has to be given another look. He ran several weeks back in the Stayers Cup where he led but was one of the first beat. Had to be a reason and there was, pulling up 2/5 lame. Tick over trial was good, he looks the leader and off prior efforts, he’ll take running down.

Long Shot

5 Toesonthenose (Bet Now: $23.00) should appreciate a rise in trip. Three weeks between runs since racing over the mile at Randwick where he got back off the speed from the inside gate and just couldn’t really get involved behind impressive winner Ha Ha Ha. The rise in trip should suit and this isn’t an overly deep contest.

Race 7. (15:00) Jockeys Celebration Day (Bm78) 1100m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Back Me

9 Spring Lee (Bet Now: $3.20) is a talented mare for Bjorn Baker that resumes. She is first up after a two run Autumn prep, where she was a sharp winner fresh at Canterbury before being far from disgraced at Scone in the Denise’s Joy behind Commemorative. That form clearly reads well for this and her trial work has been quite good.

Danger

5 Memoria (Bet Now: $26.00) is one of the key chances. Kris Lees trained mare that resumed at Randwick three weeks ago when near the speed throughout and tried her guts out but first up, she just couldn’t quite get there when third to South Of India. Has a good racing style and that pattern is suited to the Rosehill 1100m.

Long Shot

11 Nosey Parker (Bet Now: $71.00) is a knockout hope. Paul Perry trained gelding that ran two weeks back in the Midway here. He got a fair way out of his ground and never threatened but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Herb. Dangerous at odds if he can settle closer.

Race 8. (15:40) Nsw Jockeys Association Reunion Hcp 1500m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Back Me

7 Williamsburg (Bet Now: $10.00) could be the good thing of the day across Australia. Ryan/Alexiou trains and he returns to racing as a gelding. They say it’s the ultimate operation, and that could be the case with this guy given how well he trialled last week here, leading throughout and gee he trucked in an impressive display. If he runs up to that trial, good luck beating him.

Danger

14 Testator Silens (Bet Now: $7.00) is one of the key chances. Joe Pride trained gelding that has been close up without winning this time in, the latest effort being a fortnight back in the Winter Challenge when near the speed and presented to win but couldn’t quite finish the job when a close up fourth. Knocking on the door and strikes a winnable assignment.

Long Shot

2 Lion’s Roar (Bet Now: $17.00) is an O’Shea/Charlton trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since June 1 at Eagle Farm when far from disgraced in the Lord Mayors Cup behind Just Folk in a race dominated on speed. Tick over trial was good and although he’ll be spotting them a start, he should be strong at the end.

Race 9. (16:15) Congratulations Chris Waller (Bm94) 1300m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Set a deposit limit.

Back Me

6 Gravina (Bet Now: $8.50) is one of the hardest to beat for Matty Dale. This gelding ran over this track/distance two weeks ago in a similar race. He tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite get there when beaten a lip by Robusto. He can settle closer in the run and is nearing a win. That elusive win can easily come here.

Danger

5 Cuban Royale (Bet Now: $34.00) is flying for Team Price. He comes through the Robusto race from a fortnight back here. He got back to near last in the run but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat behind the Waller galloper. Each way moral if this was at Randwick but he is showing he is liking Rosehill. Hard to beat.

Long Shot

4 Much Much Better (Bet Now: $21.00) lands on speed and is tough. Sara Ryan trained gelding that ran fourth to Contemporary at Randwick a few weeks back. He was on speed alongside Elson Boy and was as game as ever, but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth. If he somehow finds the front and rolls, he’s a tough horse to get past.

Race 10. (16:50) Tab (Bm78) 1400m

Chances are you’re about to lose.

Set a deposit limit.

Back Me

11 Little Cointreau (Bet Now: $3.60) is a beauty for Joe Pride and I think has to be respected as one of the key chances. He won last Wednesday on the Kenso when given a 12/10 by Nash and in a driving go, he was too good in a tight finish. He is one of the hardest to beat.

Danger

10 High Blue Sea (Bet Now: $12.00) looks better suited in a 78 vs 88 company from three weeks ago at Randwick. He was first up, leading and giving a decent sight, but he just couldn’t quite see it through, finishing down the track behind War Eternal. Fitter, back in grade/depth, he can run a much improved race.

Long Shot

Fitter and up to 1400m are two big ticks for 6 Anythink Goes (Bet Now: $41.00). Matty Smith trained gelding that resumed two weeks back over 1200m here where he just looked in need of the run and that’s how it panned out, finishing down the track behind Iron Man. Good second up record and his best is more than good enough.
