Van Rysel, the premium cycling brand from French retailer Decathlon, has launched a new range of road cycling helmets. This range features three new models: the RCR, the FCR and the XCR.
RCR
Van Rysel notes that the RCR helmet has been designed for cyclists looking for a lightweight design with optimal ventilation. The design features eight large air intake points with seven output points.
The RCR’s ventilation system has been strategically designed to adapt to a cyclist’s position. This means that the helmet can keep the cyclist cooler during ascents in the vertical position, without creating drag during descents at full speed.
Weighing in at just 270g, the RCR helmet is positioned for tackling high elevation and long distances, as well as quick rides out on hilly terrain.
The new helmet complies with the globally recognised European safety standard EN1078. Its fit is adjusted with a dial mechanism that can also be used while cycling.
FCR
The FCR helmet is developed with a particular focus on aerodynamics. The new aerodynamic helmet has been put through its paces with rigorous wind tunnel testing by Swiss Side, a partner of Van Rysel and pro cycling team Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale.
Weighing in at 290g, the FCR helmet combines both ventilation and a lightweight design thanks to its in-mould structure.
The FCR helmet was designed in parallel with the PERF 900 and PERF 900 Light cycling glasses, offering cyclists an attachment system. The glasses’ legs fit to the helmet and stay securely in place.
XCR
The XCR helmet delivers peak aerodynamics. Van Rysel adds that it minimises aerodynamic drag and optimises each watt generated by the cyclist.
Designed in collaboration with aerodynamics experts at Swiss Side, this helmet has been optimised for use with aerobars when the cyclist’s head is positioned looking straight ahead.
The XCR helmet comes with two high-performance magnetic visors (categories 0 and 3). Riders can also remove the visor to attach it to the top of the helmet at the end of a race.
The new helmet range also features a MIPS version of the RCR and FCR models.
“We’re delighted to unveil this new helmet range, which reflects our unwavering commitment to cyclists’ safety and performance,” said Nicolas Pierron, Founder and CEO of Van Rysel.
“Each model has been developed with strong characteristics that will meet the needs of different types of cyclists, from passionate amateurs to elite athletes, such as those on the three Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale teams.”
