About the Programme

Athletics camps, offer the perfect setting for children to take part and try all the athletic disciplines in a safe, fun, pressure-free environment.

Camps provide boys and girls aged between 6 to 12yrs with the chance to be active and have fun while trying out the three main athletics disciplines of running, jumping, and throwing.

As well as learning new skills, making new friends whilst having lots of fun each child will go home with a Custom designed Technical T-shirt, Water Bottle, and Medal.

Who is the programme aimed at?

Primary School aged children (6 to 12yrs).

How long does it take?

The camps begin on a Monday and run through to Friday generally from 10am and finishing at 2pm daily.

How is it delivered?

Athletics camps take place in Athletics Ireland Clubs in counties across Ireland, mostly during the summer months and occasionally at Easter and Halloween.  Children will get the opportunity to try activities including sprinting, javelin throwing, hurdles, shot putt, long jump, and relays, along with lots of fun games which children to develop the fundamental movement skills of agility, balance, and co-ordination. There is the added benefit that these skills also form an ideal base for all other sporting activity.
