PARIS – Harvard Men’s Swimming and Diving’s Anthony Rincon competed at the Summer Olympic Games on Sunday, while representing Colombia. The rising senior swam in the heats of the 100-meter backstroke at Paris La Defense Arena.
 
Assigned Lane 2 in Heat 2, the Elizabeth, New Jersey, native posted a time of 55.42, less than a second behind heat-winner Maximillian Wilson (54.49) of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Also touching the pad ahead of Rincon were Srihari Nataraj of India (55.01), Kane Follows of New Zealand (55.01) and Bernhard Reitshammer of Austria (55.13).
 
After six heats featuring 46 athletes, Harvard’s 2024-25 team co-captain finished with the 37th-fastest time, falling short in his bid to advance to the 16-swimmer semifinals, which will be held Sunday afternoon (ET).
 
Harvard’s time at the Summer Games will continue on Wednesday, July 31, when incoming first-year Apostolos Siskos (Greece) steps onto the pool deck for the 200-meter backstroke heats. Siskos is slated to compete in Lane 3 of Heat 4. Peacock will have coverage of the event, which is scheduled for 5:21 a.m. ET.
