MANDURCH looked like a tidy prospect when winning on her debut 29 days ago, working her way into contention and readily asserting inside the final furlong. She’s bound to be much sharper and will need to be going up in grade, but the early signs are very positive.

BAYRAAT didn’t appear to have much luck in the run 15 days ago over this course and distance, yet surprisingly the assessor has dropped him a little bit in handicap. He looks to be well-drawn with some pacy runners around him and should be able to attack the leaders late on in the jump jockey sprint.

FRIENDLY SOUL is on a recovery mission after a very disappointing run at York. We are going to have to give a pass on that effort, and she looks better judged on her demolition job prior to that at Newmarket. She comes back down in distance for the Saturday afternoon’s assignment, and can get her career back on track.

BADRI won on five occasions last season yet hasn’t struck this time around for the new team. He is much better handicapped at present, and he didn’t get any daylight last time when we saw him. He looks poised to strike at a massive price on a track that suits his style.

MAKE ME KING looks like a strong each-way selection in this lineup. When we last saw him at this track, he was just a pacemaker for his stablemate English Oak. He subsequently won very easily up at Newcastle.

ORAZIO is having his first try over the long sprint distance on his 13th-lifetime start, which looks like it will suit, judged on his run in the Wokingham last time, where he flew home.

PASSENGER looks like a typical improver who has been patiently handled yet again by the wonderful Sir Michael Stoute. He’s already got some strong form in the locker at this venue, and he possesses a potent change of gear late in the day, which can see him take care of last year‘s winner, Alflaila.

SUNWAY ran arguably his best race on the good ground he encountered in Ireland last time behind Los Angeles. This afternoon, we could see an improved display as it’s his first time on genuinely quick conditions. If that’s the case, he looks like a big each-way player with the massive 11lb weight for age allowance.
