Lancashire have announced the signing of India white-ball all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer on a short-term contract.
The 29-year-old will be available for the Red Rose’s One-Day Cup games from next month and the two County Championship matches against Surrey and Hampshire that follow at the end of August.
The left-hander, who also bowls right-arm medium pace, has played two one-day internationals and nine T20 matches for India and scored more than 4,000 runs in 157 List A and 20-over games.
Iyer told Lancashire’s club website, external he was “incredibly excited” to play county cricket for the first time.
“To test my skills in both one-day and first-class cricket in English conditions is going to really benefit my game,” he said.
