Bahrain’s snooker champion Habib Sabah lost his opening match in the men’s snooker competition of the World Confederation of Billiards Sports Championship 2024, being held in Kielce, Poland.
Representing the Asia B squad, Sabah suffered a 1-3 defeat to Mateusz Baranowski from Poland, who is part of Asia A. The frame scores were 51-56, 61-11, 1-80, 62-77.
Other players in men’s snooker are Brazilian Victor Sarkis representing America, Ireland’s Brendan O’Donoghue playing for Europe A, Egyptian Samer Habieb competing for Africa and Rest of the World, and Cypriot Michael Georgiuou representing Europe B. Action continues today.
The teams’ championship is being held in four different games, including snooker, 10-ball pool, heyball, and carom three-cushion.
Sabah’s teammates in Asia B are Vidya Pillai of India for women’s snooker, Bader Al Awadi of Kuwait and Seo Seoa of South Korea in 10-ball pool, Mohammed Reza Hassan of Malaysia and Narantuya Bayarsaikhan of Mongolia for heyball, and Ryuji Umeda of Japan and Kien Tuong Phung of Vietnam for carom three-cushion.
