CHICAGO, Ill. — With 38 days before the first match of the season, North Park Women’s Volleyball looks to keep their position on top of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) and work to advance in the NCAA tournament. Head Coach Michael Sopocy is excited to officially announce the class of 2024, featuring 14 new faces.
“What a fun recruiting class this is,” said Sopocy, the CCIW’s reigning and back-to-back Coach of the Year. “We have a NJCAA National Runner-Up, state champions, runner-ups, Player of the Year, and more included in this group. The hitters joining us have heavy arms and significant size and jumping ability. We also had to really focus on defense after graduating six players that were significant parts of our nationally ranked defense. All of our new defenders all add something different to the team and I cannot wait to see how they transition into the college game. Preseason cannot be here soon enough; we are ready to get started and make more memories and history on Foster Ave.”
The new class of Vikings features 12 freshmen and two transfers coming from eight different states and one hailing from Canada.
