NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Slippery Rock University women’s lacrosse team and 11 individual student-athletes were honored Wednesday when the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its annual Academic Honor Roll and Academic Honor Squads.

In order for a team to be named an Academic Honor Squad, the collective GPA of all student-athletes on the roster must be above 3.20. The Rock posted a 3.714 GPA following the 2023-24 academic year, which was the highest of all lacrosse teams in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference for the third straight year.

In addition to the team honor, Krysta Frankowski, Grace Garbatowicz, Rachel Mahoney, Nicole Masi, Amelia Nitsche, Gillian O’Rourke, Charleigh Rondeau, Lauren Searles, Camryn Whipple, Brooke Wisniewski and Victoria Ziemba were named to the Academic Honor Roll for maintaining a cumulative GPA above 3.50. Only juniors, seniors and graduate students are eligible for the individual academic honor from the IWLCA.

Rondeau becomes a three-time honoree, while Garbatowicz, Mahoney, Searles, Whipple and Wisniewski become two-time selections to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

This marks the second team academic award handed out to the SRU lacrosse team this summer after it previously won the PSAC Team GPA Award for the 2023-24 academic year.
