Santa Margarita’s girls swimming team has collected another national title.

The Eagles earned the top dual meet power rating off submitted times to the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA), the organization announced earlier this month.

Santa Margarita scored 6,299 points to claim a second consecutive NISCA title and outdistance runner-up Sacred Heart Academy of Kentucky with 6,108.

This past season, Eagles captured their 10th consecutive CIF-SS Division 1 crown and fifth straight state championship.

Santa Margarita’s boys finished fifth in the NISCA power rankings, second-highest among California schools. Hinsdale Central in Illinois won the overall title.

In the spring, the Eagles’ boys swept Division 1 and state championships.

In the individual awards, Santa Margarita senior-to-be Teagan O’Dell finished with the fastest time in the nation in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1 minute, 53.63 seconds. The three-time O.C. female swimmer of the year finished second in the nation in the 200 free with a 1:43.26
