A man was reportedly in distress on Okanagan Lake just off Sutherland Beach, on Monday afternoon.
Witnesses reported seeing the man swimming in a sweater, pants, boots and with a backpack.
RCMP were dispatched by boat to the area and found the man swimming in the water.
According to those on scene, police were seen holding the man up in the water as they attempted to bring him back to shore.
Once on shore, the man was arrested. Officers wouldn’t comment as to why the individual was under arrest but did say he appeared to be intoxicated by something.
