All Blacks boss Scott Robertson was full of praise for the USA and San Diego after the side played out to a 47-5 win over Fiji at Snapdragon Stadium.
It was a memorable occasion in San Diego when the two sides clashed over the weekend, with a full stadium and plenty of tries for fans to feast on as the All Blacks crossed the whitewash seven times.
The victory continues Robertson’s 100% start to life in charge of the All Blacks with two wins over England and one over Fiji to his name.
Positives from the USA
Robertson was sure to share his gratitude to the USA and San Diego for hosting the historic first Test between Fiji and the All Blacks in the country.
“I just want to talk about America, they do some sport well man, far out. Just the set-up beforehand, the tailgate parties, the atmosphere, wow.
“Like during injury breaks, they were pumping like at home everyone sort of knocks off but it felt like everyone was up dancing so well done and thank you for having us in San Diego what a city,” Robertson said.
“I want to thank the San Diego Legion for putting the game on and how much care they have for our game. For them to have this as their home ground is pretty special. It’s good to see rugby so healthy in America and growing well.”

Big potential
Robertson’s right-hand man and All Blacks skipper Scott Barrett shared his coach’s sentiments while underlining the potential of the game to grow in the USA.
“I think for us to come over here and particularly play against the Fijians, we are two sides that love to play the game.
“I guess it was a great show for the game and potentially growing it here
and as the All Blacks we have certainly felt the support of the San Diego rugby community so thanks to them,” Barrett said.
Next up for the All Blacks is the Rugby Championship where they kick off their campaign against Los Pumas in August.
